“我在办公室”千万别说成 I'm in office now！

身为打工人的我们

上班是必须的

加班是免不了的

很多时候我们不是在办公室

就是在去办公室的路上

不过“我在办公室”可别说成 I'm in office

和王老师来看看正确的表达吧

为什么不能说I'm in office？

我们都知道office有“办公室”的意思

但这个句子里的office则表示

官职；公职；职务；职责

没有冠词“the”的

in office = 执政；任职

例：

How long has he been in office?

他任职多久了？

要表达“我在办公室”

需加冠词“the”

I'm in the office.

例：

I'm in the office now. Please help me pick up my delivery downstairs.

我在办公室，请帮我去楼下取下外卖。

“在家办公”英文怎么说？

telecommute

也可以说telework

例：

They could save a lot of money by shutting down their offices and letting all of their employees telecommute.

通过关闭办公室，让员工在家远程办公，他们能节约一大笔钱。

work from home

telecommute是偏书面表达

而work from home偏口语表达

例：

Nowadays a lot of people work from home.

如今有很多人在家工作。

work in a home office

home office 家庭办公室

例：

If you work in a home office, children may be another source of noise.

如果你在家办公，孩子可能是另一个噪音来源。

“back office”是什么意思？

back office = 后勤部门；（公司的）事务部门

例：

I worked for several years as an administrator in the back office of a large corporation.

我曾在一家大型公司的事务部门做行政做了好几年。

类似的head office=总公司；总部

例：

Xiaoban was transferred to our head office in Guangzhou.

小版调到了我们公司广州的总部。

“box office”是什么意思？

box office有两个意思：

（戏院或电影院的）票房，售票处

此外，booking office也可以表达：售票处

例：

The box office opens at ten.

售票处10点开门。

②

（电影或演员）受欢迎，卖座

也可以写成box-office

例：

Her last movie was a surprise box-office hit.

她上一部电影出人意料地叫座。
